Tickets
CSS Day 2025 regular tickets are €675 ex. VAT (€816.75). A limited number of early-bird tickets are available for €575 ex. VAT (€695.75).
You can pay tickets by credit card, iDeal, or invoice (bank transfer). Payment by invoice will be possible only up to mid April or so; we will end this option around that time.
Get your tickets here. They include:
- Access to the conference
- Coffee, tea, lunch, and refreshments throughout both days
- Drinks and a bite on both evenings
Tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer them to someone else. We expect all our attendees to be aware of our code of conduct.
You may not use CSS Day tickets as a prize in or a part of any promotion or sweepstakes without our permission. We'll void such tickets without reimbursement.
Teacher/student programme
Are you a CSS teacher at a university? We have an experimental programme: if you buy a ticket for yourself, you can take a few of your students with you for free. Limited availability, and please let us know before the end of April.
VAT
Since the conference is taking place in The Netherlands, 21% Dutch VAT will be added to all ticket prices.
Article 53 of the European VAT directive requires us to charge VAT even to foreigners:
"B2B services in respect of admission to cultural, artistic, sporting, scientific, educational, entertainment and similar events will be taxed at the place where those events actually take place."
Entering the Netherlands
Entering EU/Schengen countries is becoming slightly more complicated, unfortunately. Here's an overview.
- If you are a resident of the Schengen zone you don't need anything special.
- If you are not, find out if you need a visa.
- If you do, see below.
- If you don't, things get complicated. Somewhere in 2025 the Schengen countries will introduce their new ETIAS system, which requires you to pre-register comparable to the US ETA. ETIAS is supposed to become active in mid/late 2025 — probably after CSS Day. Do check the official ETIAS site, just to be on the safe side.
Visa
If you need a short-stay (up to 90 days) Schengen visa you need to apply for one. One thing you'll need is an invitation letter from us.
Order and pay your conference ticket. Then let us know that you need a Schengen visa. We will send you an invitation letter.
Obtaining a Schengen visa may take up to a month, especially if you haven't applied for one previously. We advise that you start the visa application process no later than late April.
